Mac -> GS Sound Editor?

I don't have any sound editing tools for the GS, and
maybe that's the better solution. But:

I'm using a mac to record sounds via the sound control
panel, then using Mac Sound Grabber to convert them to
GS rSounds. The problem is that all the Mac freeware/
shareware sound editors I've tried (like Audio Sample
Editor) seem to "alter" the Mac System 7 sounds such
that mac Sound Grabber can no longer convert them, but
they still work on the mac.

Questions:

1. Is anyone successfully using the Mac -> GS method
of sound recording? What software are you using?

2. Has anyone encountered the problem described above?

3. Is there a better way?
