I once wrote a program that looked exactly like you were in AppleSoft
BASIC. It would happily let you type in programs, but as soon as you
said "LIST", it said "There isn't any".
I used to start this up and leave it running at the end of the class,
and the next person to come in wouldn't even question that the
computer was still on, and would merrily start typing in a program.
The other thing I remember doing was changing the HELLO file on the
boot disks to come up with a screen that said the computer was going
to self destruct in X seconds, and count down. When it reached zero,
it would draw random lines all over the hi-res screen. My teacher
ended up asking me if I could fix the disks (she didn't know it was me
that did it :-) ).
