Boy, I went to an air show in Dayton, Ohio last weekend, and couldn't
believe what I saw. It was shocking. Some of those pilots had the gall
to fly planes that were no longer in production. There were WWII B-17s
and B-29s, and even (horror of horrors!) WWI biplanes doing things their
manufacturers had never intended. Even the Thunderbirds were flying F-16s
that had been designed and built before my Apple IIgs. I was embarassed
to be an American, I tell you. At the same time, though, I kinda felt
sorry for those poor people who couldn't afford to fly a more modern
airplane like everyone else. Either that, or they just weren't smart
enough to handle the power of today's machines. Still, someone should do
something about these people - pass a law banning them from airports or
something. No one should be flying anything older than an F-22, let alone
be having fun at it. Geez!
