One device on the SCSI chain _must_ provide terminator power. The Apple
HS SCSI _doesn't - so either the Syquest or the Quantum must provide it.
It appears the Syquest is the one providing terminator power, and hence
the Quantum works when the Syquest is in the chain. Jumper the Quantum
to provide terminator power and all should be fine. I don't know how to
do this - luckily my Quantum LPS105 came configured that way, I guess.
I also don't know if it is harmful to have more than one device supplying
term power. Does anyone know for sure? Also, external terminators are
my preference also. It shouldn't make any difference if you use internal
or external, but if you use internal terminator, it must must be the _last_
device on the SCSI chain.

Please provide a REAL email address next time. Thanks.
