About three years ago, I had the upgrade done. I called AE for a
return number & had them upgrade the drive for $79. They shipped me
a new HD drive.
I understand that AE was selling a HD drive for the mac. Rumor has it
that the big difference is the 1600K driver is not included in the Mac
package.
I would either look for one of those $125 Super Drives, or get the
blue card and a pc drive.

Yes, I can format 1.44 disks, they just need to be formatted in some
operating system before MSDOS utils formats them.
Pre-formatted HD disks are cheap enough though.
