An IW II has more than one print quality setting and can print 250 CPS in
draft mode, can print in color, has an expansion slot for a buffer card
or network card, and can use an optional sheet feeder.
The old IW prints at 120 CPS and has none of the features listed up there.
If you're deciding which kind to buy, forget the old IW unless you're getting
one for like $20 or so. You can get an IW II for $100-200 used.
