Personally, I would let them pirate as much software as they want IF AND
ONLY IF, it is NOT being sold currently. If you can't get it in the
stores there no point NOT to 'pirate' it.
This is not to say that I'm a 'software anarchist' or some other such
thing. I myself PURCHASE all the software that I use on my system
(GNO/ME, ProSEL, ProTERM, AppleWorks, etc. just to name a few) and I would
DEFINATLY _NOT_ give out 'copies' of that software as it's still on the
market.
BUT if someone wanted a copy of, oh, Bilestoad let's say which you CAN'T
GET, and if I happened to have it I would gladly give it to him. Face it,
the Apple // is nearly dead in the water, it's impossible to find software
for it except a couple applications. Why screw other Apple // owners out
of enjoying thier machines?
