The FLUSH command does any updating to an OPEN file without closing it.
It's basically the same as a CLOSE command except that it doesn't
actually close the file. This is used primarily in programs where a file
remains open for an extended period of time and the FLUSH command is used
to update (write any cached data to the file) so that in the event of a
crash or power failure or any such circumstance, the data will not be lost.
