The NES has a lot more than one chip... but since you've brought up the
point, I'm gonna write up a nice summary of 6502 systems thru time. :)

System         CPU    coprocessors (if any)

Atari 2600     6507   STELLA/TIA video chip, RIOT timer/128 bytes of RAM.

Atari 400/800  6502   ANTIC video chip, sound chip I don't remember.

                      half of ANTIC.


C= VIC 20      6510   VIC video chip, unknown audio chip, 6522 PIA.    

C= 64          6510   As VIC20, with SID sound chip.
   and SX/64
  
C= Plus/4      As C=64 with various video tweeks
   and 10

C= 128         As C=64 with more RAM, better graphics.

NES            65C02  PPU tile-based video chip, 4 voice FM audio

SNES           65816  Super PPU tile-based video chip, Mode 7 DSP
                      engine, SPC700 audio coprocessor, Sony audio DSP

TurboGrafix-16 65C02  Unknown video/audio chips

Apple II and   6502   Now classic Woz Video Engine, PC honker-type audio
II Plus

Apple IIe/IIc  65C02  Same as II/II+ with better integration and MMU. 
and IIc Plus

Apple IIgs     65816  VGC video chip, Ensoniq DOC 5503 32-oscillator wavetable
                      audio chip, 6502-based ADB microcontroller.

Oddly enough, a lot of more modern chips just aren't this flexible... :)
