Quite true. The old kind used a phone-type plug as a connector.

Well, as a note to the original author, I'm typing on an Apple Extended
Keyboard II at this moment and the reset+modifiers work fine.
The only thing that you'll notice beyond the closed-apple/option thing is
how many keys you won't really be using. Function keys
will be the most obvious, but there are programs out there to "program" the
fkeys - one, that I've been recently told about, is Nathan Mates' Shortcuts,
which was written for SoftDisk GS.
