Ace 1200 Help! Rolf Taylor Also!

Need help with this Franklin 1200 (newer version, requires softboot
before you run any software).
 
I can't get the 80-column mode to work right.  If I type
"PR#3" from BASIC, hit [return] a few times, and then type "HOME",
the ] prompt still stays on the screen.  If I hit the reset button to
force the machine to go back to 40-column mode, mess around, and then
type "pr#3" to get back to 80-columns, whatever I originally typed is
still there on the screen.
 
Also, if I try to run Copy ][+ v5.0 (or any other DOS 3.3 program
requiring 64k), it crashes or just tells me I don't have 64k.  I have
a board which I believe, to the best of my knowledge, is a 16k RAM
card in slot 0; it's gott be, since when I switch on the machine
it loads FPBASIC from my DOS 3.3 System Master into the language card.

BTW, Rolf K. Taylor, you were sent a few bucks for some support disks
for this machine a while ago.  What happened?
