I'm trying to unzip PGP files that I downloaded from the MIT site,
and I'm not getting anywhere. I've never unzipped before, so I'm
not sure whether the problem is with the PGP files, the 3 unzip
utilities that I downloaded from Genie A2 libraries, or my system
and me.
PMPUnzip delays for around a minute after the file is selected for
unzipping, and then puts up the announcement that "An error has
occurred while trying to allocate memory for this archive." My
system has 5 meg of RAM, and about 15 meg of free memory on the
drive volume holding the unzip utilities and the zipped PGP files.
Angel seems to work but it produces a file that is just as unreadable
as the original and is considerably smaller than the original. The
original file was PGP26DOC.zip, and the smaller "unzipped" file is
PGP26DI.zip. Has Angel double-zipped the file perhaps, instead of
opening it?
UnzipIIe puts up a message saying that it doen't find a recognizable
version of a zip file. I presume it was created before the current
version of zip was around.
Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to have access to a
functioning unzip utility on my IIgs.
Thanks very much.
