So how did you heat up the Xacto knife?  Hold the blade over a candle
for a few seconds?

Thats the point I DID IT COLD.... and someone told me after the fact to heat 
up the cutting tool (i assume it is an exacto knife) and then slowly use the 
heated up xacto knife to slowly melt/cut a groove down to where the trace is 
thru the plastic....rather then do it my way DUMB where i just used force 
and a cold xacto knife..

I've found enough references stating the TC4 and TC5 bow ties should
be cut.  But the Tony Diaz's upgrade guide and the SHH Systeme page
about the 32K cache made no mention of needing this.

don't know been almost 20yrs i think since i did this mod...may have done it 
in 1993?........but i THINK although i'm not sure the cut of the bow ties 
was to get the 32k cache to work..if i remember right
