IIgs on the fritz...HELP

I have  a IIgs that seems to have a logic board problem at least that is 
what one repair place has
told me.
It will only run some programs, it will not run appleworks any version nor 
the tour of the IIgs disk
but it will run Chess Master 2000, Sea Strike, copy II plus, Writers choice 
elite for the IIgs paint
works.
The appleworks program that I was using on the apple //e will boot up as 
far as the date check
prompt and then al I get is Beep Beep.  The appleworks for the IIgs the one 
that will preload to the
ram card (1 Meg) will seem to bot al the way but then will only let me open 
a  certain file and not
be able to actually do any thing with it. It too will start to Beep Beep 
when I try to do any thing
basically it will be locked up.

I've run the self diagnostic test and it comes up system good???

If you have any suggestion as to what I might try or where to find a cheap 
replacement board
(something I really do not want to have to do  I would greatly appreciate a 
reply.
