I get this all the time on my proline's hard disk. The cure is to use the 
foolproof delete in the utilities. Go into sort directory and move the
offending file to the end of the dir and press cmd-delete. Then write the
sorted dir to disk. Poof! it's gone. Then run volume repair again in case
some blocks need freed in the bit map.
