AW4 and Ram card problems

Hi all:
 
 
Finally got my copy of AW4.02 from Quality Computers and yet again I have
run into the evil dead end memory wall created by my SuperExpander E
1 meg memory card.  I have an enhanced IIe with the memory card installed
in the auxillary slot.  Appleworks V4 does not recognise the card!  I am
left with a measly 26k of space on the deastop and UltraMacors is unplugged.
 
I called quality as well as the manufacturer of the card.  Quality
said I was the first person to report the problem.  Likewise the
manufactuerer was of no help.  I have patch software that came with the
card to fix older versions of AppleWorks v30 and down.  The patch
did not work on V4.  Once patched with the utility Apleworks V4 crashes.
 
The amount of memory available on my card is available at memory
location C071.  I guess the standard location should be C073 for a
ramworks type card.  The patch program just changes the locations.
 
Please let me knwo if anyone else has encountered this problem or
devised a workaround for this mess.
 
Someone mailed me directions on how to bridge two pins on a chip on the
card to make it function as a ramworks card, but alas I have lost
them.
