The "extended-keyboard" computer on the cover of the IIe tech ref manual
says "Apple IIe". Did the platinum one really use a capital E?

Maybe; I didn't even know there was a platinum //c.
Misc questions about the same subject (it's a Usenet tradition that the
length of a thread is directly proportional to the triviality of its
subject):
- Is the "+" spelled out as "plus" on the //c+ case?
- When you upgrade a //e (or a IIe :-) ) to a IIGS, how is "IIGS"
written on the sticker you get with the new motherboard?
- Was the name "Apple" (or "Apple I") written anywhere on its
wooden case?
