Flame War

First, let me say that I accept that I overreacted to Joseph Lee's
posting criticising me of failing to put a proper description in front of
Wiggle - but perhaps it was a lack of communication. I'm British, and
such a tone as he used is, to us, highly agressive. I responded in the
fashion that such language would draw in Britain.

If you don't believe me, check some biographies - Churchill, Wilde,
Whistler, and a thousand others used language just as 'in your face' as I
did. British people either don't react at all to aggression, or react
very strongly indeed. It's a fault we have. Probably aggravated by a
feeling of insecurity engendered by the uncomfortable changes our country
has undergone in the last fifty years.

I did say that I was angry, and why. Hell's Teeth, the first word I get
back for uploading an (admittedly trivial) game is a snippy 'not good
enough' - not a word of 'hey - saw your game', much less a hint of
thanks.

I did not put 'Wiggle' out as a sample of my work - it only took me two
days to write, and my four-year old niece likes it - that's all. I
thought other people (or their children) would like it, too. I was wrong,
so since it's pretty pathetic - as Ian Schmidt put it - let's just get
rid of it. If everyone deletes the game, we can even pretend it was all a
nasty dream.

As for how it could be improved - I appreciate the comments, and take
them in the spirit in which they are offered, but I won't waste anyone's
time with it.

If everyone will accept my apology, I'm quite prepared to stop the whole
discussion right here, and forget it ever happened. No fault. But being
compared to - or described as the same as - Dr. Tom is a bit hard. I
haven't lied, or stolen or made any outrageous claims that I couldn't
substantiate. However, since that seems to be the prevailing opinion of
me around here, it might be best if I unsubscribed to c.s.a2.

Oh, and I _am_ an aging hippy and I'm damned proud of it!
