I was going through my magazine collecion that was in storage and
decided to put them back up on my shelf. They weren't doing me any
good in boxes. The only thing was, what good are they on the shelf
if I don't know what's in them and if I have to dig though every
issue to find one review, would that make sense? I could catalog
each and every issue and store the information in an electronic
database, but that could take some time.
Does anyone know of an electronic magazine index that I can buy that
will run on my IIgs or IIe? Are there any AppleWorks database files
available for my computer magazines or seperate stand-alone products
that will do the same? My magazine collection includes issues of
Creative Computing, Personal Computing, Popular Electronics, Online
Today, Byte, MacWorld, MacUser, PC Magazine, Apple Orchard, CAll -
A.P.P.L.E., Peelings II, Hardcore Computist, Nibble, Compute,
Compute's Apple, A2-Central, A+, inCider, Stereo Review, Softalk,
GS+, PC Computing, 8/16, Apple Assembly Line, IIGS Buyer's Guide, II
Alive, Softdisk, Softdisk G-S, POKE-APPLE, Enhance, SMUG Newsnotes,
The Passport House Letter, Scarlett, ComputerUser, Babba, The Prodigy
Star, America Online Magazine, GEnieLamp, and GEnieLamp pro.
Probably the easiest thing to do is just throw everything away since
most of my magazines are more than a few years old, but I wonder if
there are things in them that make it worth keeping.
