Dave is working at Microsoft and seems to be quite buried as I haven't
heard from him in weeks. He & I have both written implementations of a
completely new format which basically destroys the limitations of the
original BinSCII and is platform independent. My version is the cc-n-go
version that's supposed to compile everywhere, and Dave's is much more
comprehensive (well, when it's finished, anyway) but requires ANSI C and
a fairly friendly system environment. Neither is Apple specific at this
point, although that will be our next project once the portable versions
are done.
