How to convert xxx.gz

You convert xxx.gz files with the "gunzip" command.

"gunzip xxx.gz" (w/out quotes of course).  You will then be presented 
with file xxx .

You may have to extract the various parts of the resulting file w/ the tar
command, i.e. tar xxx .  I don't remember tar's flags, so you will have to
do a man tar .
