8 BIT Apples on IRC?

  Hello.      
I have a request: why doesn't somebody change the IRC Apple channel's name
from #AppleIIgs to just #AppleII or something like that so 8 bit people
have a place to get to on IRC??  

Or better yet, why doesn't someone create a new (permanent) IRC channel
for 8 bit AppleII'ers???  

  Anyone else would like that???
