A2World from Sam Latella [Passenger 57]...

Welcome to the beginnings of a truely International Apple ][ newsletter called
A2World...
 
     Ever wonder what other Apple ][ users groups were doing around the world?
Well I have, and actually have talked to several people around the world, and
exchanged newsletters.  The information from these groups is vast and
unbelievable.
 
     Now your probably asking why am I mentioning this?  Well for starters, I'm
interested in this kind of information, and secondly I think you are too :).
So, I'm proposing to offer my services to compile all the Apple ][ usergroup
newsletters from around the world on a 3.5 inch disk for Bi-monthly
distribution.
 
     How is this possible you ask?  Well for starters I can't do A2World
without the HELP of all Apple ][ user groups from around the world.  First off,
I need your HELP and DEDICATION too.  How can you help you ask?   Well, you can
MAIL ME A COPY OF YOUR CLUBS NEWSLETTER EACH AND EVERY MONTH in printed format,
and on a 3.5 inch disk in either Appleworks/Ascii text format, or e-mail the
information to me (in Ascii text format) on Genie or the Internet.  I will only
accept material that is related to the Apple ][ and from a usergroup, and
preferably in English, but will accept any language format, no Mac stuff please
:).
 
And what will you receive?  If there's enough support for this you'll receive a
Bi-monthly issue of A2World (compiled with A2 news from users around the
world), and a simple viewer program called Sneeze by Karl Bunker, so that you
can view the information right away or print it..
 
Unfortunately, I'll have to charge for A2World, but the fee is INCREDIBLY
CHEAP.  The fee will be based on per usergroup. So, a one year subscription
will obviously be divided by how many members are in your A2 usergroup.
 
What's the cost you ask?  Well, if you download A2World from Genie then it
would cost you $2.00 per issue per usergroup (Do not send a money order if your
downloading.  Genie's gift of time will be suffecient).  If I mail the issue to
your usergroup then it would cost you $5.00 per issue per usergroup to cover
shipping & handling. (Payment would be made by sending a moneyorder in U.S.
funds for A2 user groups located outside of Canada or a Canadian moneyorder if
located in Canada).  Mailed subsriptions are based on a one year subsription (6
issues) total cost would be $30 per year.  Make the moneyorder out to Salvatore
Latella <--- I also go by the name Sam because its easier to pronounce, and its
english).
 
You ask, "What does the charge per user group mean?"  If you are part of a user
group then you only need one copy of A2World, and your club is allowed to make
copies for all of your members.  (The idea is, an unlimited usergroup site
license for the distribution of A2World).
 
A2World can only be distributed by me to Genie (I'll upload it Bi-monthly to
the A2 roundtable), or mailed by me to your A2 user group (and the A2 user
groups have the right for distribution among its club members).  Only Genie is
allowed to carry A2World, and no other online service, and Apple ][ users
groups are allowed to upload A2World to their usergroup Bulletin Boards. Also,
A2World will not retain the rights of any published material, the authors fully
retain these rights, but once a newsletter is sent in, A2World is allowed to
publish the material, unless otherwise notified by the author.  It is
unfortunate that I can not return the printed newsletters sent to me for
A2World, so please send a spare copy.
 
Finally you ask?  But, I'm not part of an Apple ][ user group, and there are no
local Apple ][ groups for me to join.  Then create one yourself :)
 
Now for the A2 companies or independent A2 publishers, or non-profitable A2
orginizations....this information is directed to you.  If you sell anything
related to the Apple ][ ...example: hardware, software, books, magazines etc
then you can advertise in A2World for the same cost as a usergroup, either (a
$2.00 Genie gift of time per issue), or $5.00 per issue (one year subscription
is 6 issues or $30).  All you have to do is send me information EACH AND EVERY
MONTH via Genie e-mail (in Ascii text format), or send me a copy of your
advertising in printed format, and on a 3.5 inch disk in either Applworks (any
version) or Ascii text format.  I'll publish press releases, new and improved
monthly price listings, and anything else that you want, but you'll have to
send me the information as I explained above. :)
 
What better way to reach your market....
 
In Conclusion, an International Newsletter like A2World will definitely benefit
the Apple ][ Community, and its usergroups.  So, please send me your
newsletters, or any suggestions for improvement, or just send me a message that
you like the idea. :)
 
I'll be aiming for September 1st, as a release date for the first issue of
A2World, giving me ample of time to contact users groups and A2 companies from
around the world and to compile the information to disk, so pass the word
around about A2World, and please begin sending in the information requested,
and lots of if it too.  My goal is to fill a 3.5inch 800k disk each and every
month with Apple ][ user group information.  <---- Only you can make this
happen.

Mailed Subscriptions: $30 (U.S. money order if outside of Canada, in Canada,
