INSTALLING COPILOT(tm) ON MY APPLE IIGS
A Cautionary Tale
0. CoPilot is a nifty GUI front end to the PTP, TIC, and ProTerm popular Apple
telecom programs that lets you interact with the GEnie BBS. (IBM & Mac GEnie
subscribers get a supported front-end called Aladdin.) The rest of this
message is of interest to you only if you access GEnie on a Apple IIGS. This
message is not an attack on either ProTerm or CoPilot (even though I may have
a hard time hiding my complete annoyance with them at this moment) -- both are
fine products, without which using GEnie on my Apple would be almost
unthinkable.
1. Several months ago, I tried the "Download a GEnie Navigator" command which
is a permanent part of the menu in the Apple 2 Roundtable (A2 RTC) on the
GEnie online service. The lengthy download cost me some connect time $$, but
I did successfully download and unShrink the CoPilot files on my GS.
2. I looked at the README
