Last question first.  There is a WP 2.1f but I like you only have
2.1e.  I do not know what the differences are between the two
versions.
 
Scrolling problem: I believe I can help you as I think I HAD the same
problem.  When I tried to scroll up in a document that was doubled
spaced, the scrolled areas would disappear and for some odd reason
appear in the top white bar area (where it should say "FILE EDIT
WINDOWS" etc).  If this is the problem, there is a way to fix it (at
least solved it for me).
 
Here is what I did.  Two things.  One may be enough.  In my pursuit
of a fix I changed a couple things at once.
 
1.  Make sure that the prefixes are set correctly.  Also, I have a
separate folder for prefix 3 (I call it WP.JUNK).  In the manual
refer to Prefix, pgs. 383-385.
 
2.  Increase the size of the Buffer (under Defaults, p. 282).  Mine
is set arbitrarily to 128K.
 
I should state that I am running WP from a hard drive and that I have
6 megs memory installed.  Oh, and I launch WP from the Finder.
