BASIC Prodos Questions

I'm posting this to c.s.a2 as well as cs.a2.p because you may know the
answer, and be kind enought to help me out.  I really mean prodos 8 (no
IIgs stuff).

Memory :
What does memory look like under Prodos and Applesoft BASIC?  If I recall
the BASIC program starts at $800.  Hires 1 and 2 at $2000 and $4000?? 
Under DOS 3.3, you had HIMEM and LOMEM, do these exist under Prodos? 
Basically, I need as much memory as possible for an 80 column text only
BASIC program, and I need an address where I can protect 400 bytes for a
binary data file.  Recommendations?

What's the safest way to activate the 80 column card?  I've noticed that a
? chr$(4) "Pr#3" blows away my Applesoft program.

Finally, is there any way to see a text file being exec'ed under Prodos? 
MONICO worked under 3.3, but not prodos.
