How are you ftp'ing?

'dir' works for anonymous FTP, but is disabled for users with real login ID's.
I don't know exactly why, but that was some committee's recommendation for
FTP installation.  There is some security breach whereas some unscroupulus
users could get to 'root' or something, so 'dir' had to be disabled.  I don't
know if grind ever had this problem, but it does follow the recommendations
for its FTP installation.  I need to go find my mbox mail where I was notified
of why this happened.

Anyway, 'anonymous' FTP should be OK.  (It works for me.)  But FTP by a
userid and 'dir' is disabled!

Let me know if anonymous FTP is having problems, 'cause it always works for
me!
