In Article #71738, Dennis Behrens <DBEHRENS@MIAMIU.BITNET>, uttered:
: Hello,
:
: I got a quick little question, what is the best accelerator for the
: Apple IIgs, is it the ZipGS or Transwarp? Besides, which one is faster
: and has the lest number of software/hardware confilcts (somethings always
: seems to be in conflict :) ).
I have never had a problem with my Zip 10MHz/64k Cache... neither did I
have a problem with the 8MHz one when I had it. The Transwarp, though,
supposedly had a load of hardware/software conflicts, and is supposedly
slower than the Zip. The Zip has a lot of things going for it, so I will
state them and recommend the zip:
1) It's still made and supported.
2) It is compatible with everything (so far).
3) It's cheaper (pricewise).
4) It uses less heat/draws less power.
5) It's easily upgradeable to over 14MHz.
6) Rumor has it that your display is much faster with it, too...
Hope that helps ya out!
