I have a Rom 01 GS that has a bad chip just below and between slots 1 and
2.  Printed on the board is Apple's number for the part, 34350041.  On the
chip itself is : AMI 8843 MET, The next line = .344 50041-A .  This
defective chip causes the GS to erase any disk that you try to boot from
the smart port.  If anyone has such a cchip or knows where I might be able
to find one please E-mail.  I need help.  I've run out of disks to erase!!
