I did say non-hardware and Ensoniq does qualify as hardware.  GS/OS isn't a
giant leap from ProDOS, but it's a valid point.  However, what amongst
other points?  I did ask for specifics and you answer vaguely.

A Mac is different because it was designed primarily as a closed architecture
(hardware and software wise) never meant to be hacked upon.  It's a distant
entity when you're using it because it's just some black box you turn on
plug stuff into and you'll get something out.

The Apple II has been open always where you could play with the inards
all you want.  It's personally fun and not frowned upon as it is on the Mac.

Answer your question?  Now could you answer my simple question?
