Sure.
There are still several companies that devellop software for the IIGS, 
e.g. Procyon, SevenHills, Vitesse and ByteWorks to name a few. 

Besides, there a many hobby programmers who produce a lot of 
shareware/freeware programs of a high quality.

Of course you can hook up a laser writer to the GS.
