Re: Epic Modem Card Manual

Paul Bauer. The manual for the Epic Classic II 2400 modem is nearly
useless. It includes the standard Hayes command set and a glossary
of computer terminoloy which you can find most anywhere. Just page
fillers to make the book look good.
The important info is the DIP switch settings and reccomendations for
several comm programs. Here is what it says ------------

Switch Position OFF ON

Switch #1 - CTS Clear to send True Always ON
Switch #2 - DTR Data terminal ready True Always ON
Switch #3 - DCD Data carrier detect True Always ON
Switch #4 - INT Interrupt Enabled Not enabled

Here are some switch settings for some common software packages.

ASCII Express Pro, MGR Manager, Mousetalk, Net Master, Vid-Text,
Talkback, ProTerm and Point to Point.

Switches 1, 2 and 3 OFF. Switch 4 ON.

If you have a problem with a software package, try switching
Switch #3 to ON.
If you continue to have problems, feel free to give us a call.
