BinHex for mac in Binscii?
Does anyone have a direct binary image of BinHex for the Mac in a ProDOS
file that they could run BinScii on and post to cba2? I have a new mac,
but I can't download anything on comp.binaries.mac without BinHex. (I still
use my //GS for programming though, and for hooking up to Internet!)
It is even P.D.?? if not, where can I buy it?
Also, does anyone know of a good book on Modula-2 programming? I got
Orca/Modula-2, but I don't know all the good features, yet.
Here's a hint for anyone trying to hook a GS to a Mac, and has an IW2 --
Use the printer cable itself for the LocalTalk cabling!! ('course you won't
be able to use your printer, unless you get a new cable, or reconnect the
cable at one end back to the printer!) Use Sys6 Installer on GS and install
all of the Appletalk options, skipping those that modify your system files.
If you have System 7.x on Mac, just use the control panel to set up users
and groups, (only one -- you!), turn on file sharing, and allocate a folder
on the Mac for your use. Just give the folder all the sharing privs, and
you're ready to go! Now you can use the Mac for serious stuff like
ClarisWorks, and save your GS for fun stuff, all while gaining the benefits
of the Mac's larger HD!! Plus, you won't need AW anymore (sell it for $$$) if
you have CLarisWorks!! It's a way cool integrated package! You won't need to
buy Pointless, either (Mac Sys7 already has TrueType). Use the money you
saved, and contribute to Shareware for the GS!! (or the Mac!)
Finally, does anyone know of a P.D. C++ compiler for the Mac? Even a
shareware would be O.K.
