The later version of AppleWriter ][e has a built-in feature to "convert 
AppleWriter 1.0 documents" which will take the old B-type documents and convert
them to clean DOS text files.  Then, if you need to convert to ProDOS (for use 
with AppleWorks, for example), that's fairly trivial.  Sorry, I'm not sure 
which version of AppleWriter that is...just that it is the DOS 3.3 version that
I use all the time.
