     You can do it, but it's NOT recommended (apparently it's very easy
to blow your IIgs sound DOC).  Inside the IIgs there is a brown (red/orange)
7-pin plastic connector near the lower right of the motherboard.  By using
a tape recorder or other device (set it on low output volume) I believe you
simply hook up to the bottom two pins inside the IIgs.  
     Please note that neither me nor anyone else on the 'net is responsible
for damage to your computer using this method.  It's much easier just to
get a sound board, even a simple HyperStudio one.
