128mb drives are pretty much standard, I don't think those 256mb and
variations are universally supported by different vendors yet.
On the Macs, different vendors' 128 cartridges don't always work with
each other because their (lame IMO) SCSI driver differences.
It should work ok with the RF. Teac also has the drive (prolly the
cheapest, around $700 for a bare unit I think). They are all around
35ms average access or so. A faster one is probably up to $900
bare, not exactly that much. So I think the speed improvement might be
worth it.
As for La Cie, they're a Quantum company, but they're basically just
people who sell hard drives. When they come out with they 128mb MO
(I thought they had it already), it's gonna use other's mechanism.
(hmm, I should've quoted... oh well. Note that I haven't used a MO
personally, so I can be very off)
