LHEXT 2.1 & -lh5- compression problem

I have a file which has been compressed via the "LHA" method "-lh5-".
I tried using LHEXT 2.1 to decompress it. The utility recognizes it and
goes through the motions of decompressing it. The little "thermometer" dial
progresses properly left to right.
The resulting file is the correct size, as stated in the compressed file
header. However, when you look at the resultant file, it is completely zero
filled. Other LHA "methods" seem to work okay.
Does anyone have a handle on this problem? ...solution? ...words of sympathy?
Thanks.
