Umm, maybe the sample was digitized in 16 bit, then converted to 8
bit? I have a tendancy to believe GS digitizer cards suck. :-) I
like the GUS and the SB16ASP for digitizing 'cuz the results are nice
(yack, i'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but 16bit sound is
better than 8 :-) )... From there I just save it in 8 bit and the
result sometimes sounds the same. (shrugs).
