I saw Mosaic the other day for the first time, and it completely knocked my
socks off. That's a graphic based front end for WWW and apparently the
source code is available. Would it be possible for someone to implement
Mosaic for the Apple II?
In the meanwhile, it seems as if we can use Lynx as a non-graphic based
front end, but my arrow keys seem to act other than Lynx docs say they
should act. I'm using ProTerm, but could switch. Has anyone found an Apple
II telecomm program where arrow keys with Lynx work they way they are
supposed to?
The Mosaic I saw was connected to a "T-1" line that had a direct connect. I
was just floored by what I saw. Huge graphic files spped through the net and
were displayed in mind blowing photo-realistic manner, right from within
Mosaic.
With Mosaic, you could search the net by using your mouse. I want it.
What would it take? Am I dreaming to think I could use Mosaic on a GS?
Oh...about ProTerm's arrow keys in Lynx...I'm set for VT-100. Would another
setting be better?
It's kind of incredible that I've been using the net for probably 2 years,
and seeing Mosaic, it was like I was seeing something different than I'd
ever seen before. I was seeing the future. I haven't seen anything so that
completely impressed me in a long long time...maybe never.
I want Mosaic, and I want it now!
Silly question...but...do people who access the net from school terminals
get to use Mosaic?
