I killed my AEHD drive

Welp, I bought a used mac mechanism to replace my dead other Apple 3.5 
drive and guess I hooked something up wrong and fried my AEHD drive.
Now it is dead as a door nail.  Doesn't even register as a device when
I put a disk in.

The drive I was doctoring up works just peachy kean.....  Now I have
two drives again both 800k, but the good one the 1.6meg AE is complete
trash.

Any ideas on perhaps what I could do to fix it.  The last thing that happened
was the red led was on the the drive ont he end of the chain(the tester 
drive) was in constant eject mode over and over again.

Maybe an easy fix.  Could I just get another sony mecanism and shove it in???

That is what I did with the other broken 3.5 800k drive I got.  I wonder
what the diff is.  The mac drive didn't work at all, but when mounted with
the other GS hardware in the Apple 3.5 case, it works now just great.
