that's a good question. I've never seen it done, but I bet it's
possible.
> (2) How can I tell I have a memory-upgradable //c?
they all are. I have a Super Expander C. It does not use the
memory plug only present in later versions of the c. Instead,
you unplug the CPU and MMU (two of the "big three" on the motherboard)
and plug this card into the chip sockets. Then plug the chips onto
the top of the card. Nifty setup, but has two problems:
(1) the keyboard barely fits back on top. You cannot get the
keyboard back into the case if you have a Zip Chip. (which is
like 1/8" higher than the 65C02) My keyboard is currently
outside the case. (working on a extension cable for the
keyboard)
(2) if you leave it in for a while, you can no longer remove it. The
pins on the card (that plug into the chip sockets) are MUCH larger
than the pins on the chips, and they pry the prongs apart. You
can't get good contact anymore with the chips. (but why would you
want to remove the memory??)
