I've been wondering how to finish this level myself, for a number
of years now! Even tried asking on rec.games.video, but no one there even
heard of the secret-level. I tried to get through the level on both
Marble Madness //e and Will Harvey's Marble Madness GS (btw, what's Will
been up to the past couple of years?) but couldn't figure it out. I did get
a bit further than you did:

Those aren't canoes, their little leafs. You have to ride one of them
over to that little thing in the water -- it'll teleport you to this water
slide. You get off the slide onto a narrow ledge (don't fall off) and go
onto those little moving elevator-platforms (going down vertically), getting
off onto the ledge at the lower-right. Not sure what to do from here, any
ideas? (Btw, you only have one life and if you wait for the time to run
out, your put to the beginning of "Water Maze" and the timer resets). There
definately *is* a way to complete it, I had a look through MM with a sector
editor and there's some text related to finishing the secret-level (either
that or some easter-egg I never discovered! :)
