HELP! Hard Drive Problem!

I NEED HELP! (with my hard drive :-) )

Here's the scoop.

This morning I decided to once again try to see if my ZipGS could run
at 12MHz reliably. (I reconfirmed that it won't -- only 10.5). But,
after running at 12MHz for about 2 hours. (I was running the game
FillMaze in demo mode to keep the computer 'busy' while putting the
Zip through its paces) I returned to the Finder to find that the only
partition to display on the desktop was my boot partition (Hard.1).
Even worse, the computer sits with the wristwatch cursor displayed
(apparently trying or waiting for the other partitions) and is 'stuck'.
I have a RamFast (rev. D, 3.01e ROM) so I went to the built-in utility
program where everything looks normal and unaltered. After several
manipulations, I have been able to boot successfully into the finder by
inactivating the offending partitions from within the RF utility.
(Hard.2, Hard.3, Hard.4, Hard.5).

Well, at this point I was at the panic stage. But for some reason I
decided to boot the computer directly into ProDOS 8. To my amazement, all
the partitions are accessible!!! BUT ONLY FROM PRODOS 8!?!?

What is going on here? Can I resurrect these partitions to be readable
under GS/OS? Why P8 but not GS/OS?

I would backup all the partitions from P8 and start from scratch but
there are so many files with resource forks and I don't have any P8
backup/copy program which can do the job.

I also re-installed System 6.0.1 on Hard.1 just to make sure things are
not corrupted.

I have: ROM 01 GS
        4 Mb RAM
        System 6.0.1
        RamFast rev. D, ROM 3.01e
        Quantum ELS170 in external case

Any help would be appreciated. I'm desperate!

Paul
