I received a call today from a friend who works at an Authorized
Macintosh Dealer in town. A couple had come into the store and wanted
to know how they could hook a SCSI hard drive up to the GS. Naturally,
the staff there thought they were mistaken and that they really had some
sort of Mac II. Anyway, my friend (who works in service) overheard the
conversation and stepped in to help. Of course, all they needed was a
SCSI card. The store could order an Apple HS controller for them, but
it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $220 + tax! It's a good
thing my friend gave me a ring and I pointed them towards a real Apple
II dealer who could help. I thought the original price for an Apple
card was only $129 or so. Are the guys at this store on drugs?
