Help needed with PRODOS and/or trapping Printer Output

   Hi,

Please bear with me because it's been a looooooooong time since I've
used an apple ][e. A friend of mine has an apple ][e and is using a
software package called PFS:file. This package basically designs forms,
lets people enter data into the forms they have developed, and perform
various searches on the data entered. My goal is to export this data
into an ascii delimited format so that I can import it into a different
database. There aren't any options to export the data in this program.
I tried 'catalog' and some system utilities on the disk to see if I could
look at the data and it kept telling me that the disk was a PRODOS disk.
However when I tried to list the volume names of the disk under PRODOS it
stated the disk was not PRODOS.

So my first question is are there any commands that anyone knows of that
will allow me to view what is on this disk ? If the disk is in a special
format and cannot be accessed is there a utility available that would
allow me to trap the printer output to an ascii file. Then from this file
I could write my own program to extract the data into an ascii delimited
    format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !
                                          <= Chris =>
