hard drive crash
I have a Seagate SCSI 80 meg hard drive with my GS that just
suddenly showed up with bad blocks 2-35. I used the utility that
came with the Apple High Speed SCSI card to find this out. It
also still recognized that there were three partitions, but did
not know their names (I use /H1, /H2, /H3). This means that I
cannot access a directory for the drive and when I boot System
6.1 from a floppy, the partitions cannot be accessed. It asks if
I want the partition ejected or formatted. I have some files
that were not backed up recently on the hard drive that I would
like to try and salvage before reformatting the entire hard
drive. I have Prosel 16, but volume repair just chokes when it
reaches block 2. Advanced Disk Utilities will allow me to
repartition, but I will lose all current data. Any suggestions
for utilities that might help recover some data?
