Re: ANYONE WITH //C ROM UPGRADES

I have had FOUR original IIc computers upgraded to the Unidisk 3.5" board,
all with cheerful service at the Apple dealer, all at absolutely no cost.
Three of the IIc's were upgraded within the past six weeks.

The "new" motherboards work great. Only quibble is that the serial port is
SUPPOSED to operate at up to 9600 baud. My college has now installed
high speed fiber optics data lines to all faculty offices. These lines
are supposed to transmit at all speeds at to 38000 baud and modems are
not needed. (The data line connects directly to the serial port, bypassing
any modem.)

Well, yesterday I tried two different IIc computers, and at speeds faster
than 2400 baud you get some gibberish on the last line of the screen, so
I have no slowed down the speed to 2400 baud. Needless to say,
I get flack about this from the MS-DOS braggards down the hallway.

But at least the motherboard upgrade was FREE, and I can use the
Unidisk with each computer!
