I think it was probably comp.sys.mac.apps. For some reason, about a week ago,
Apple ][ emulators were getting quite a lot of traffic. The results, I think,
are that "][ in a Mac", an old (1987) //e emulator is about the best that is
around NOW, though it has quite a number of flaws. There are some Apple //
emulators in the public domain which require copies of a real Apple // ROM as
well, though I'm not sure where a good Internet source for them are. If you
can wait, it also sounds like at least three different people are working on
new Apple ][ emulators that should be appearing anywhere from two months from
now to a year from now.
Because of the high volume of traffic in c.s.m.a, it might be difficult to
retrieve the messages, but it is worth a try if you're interested..
