ORCA is the standard programming environment for the IIgs (and has
been since day one). Programming utilities should be ORCA compatible
if at all possible.
General utilities are arguable, but I still think they should be ORCA
compatible unless they require some feature of GNO to be feasible.
[In case you haven't guessed already, I don't have GNO. When I
eventually get it, I might change my tune. I will not be pleased if I
am forced to buy it prematurely, just so that I can use some program
which the author has decided not to bother making ORCA compatible.]

Que? I do this all the time in ORCA. Which version of ORCA are you
talking about, anyway? I'm using ORCA/Shell 2.0.2, I think (2.0.0 was
able to support long command lines, but I haven't used 1.x for so long
that I can't remember it too well).
