Fixing AppleColor RGB monitor

A few months back, I purchased some second-hand IIgs systems. Included
in the package was a spare GS monitor (AppleColor RGB) that was no longer
functioning. Apparently, it was dropped on the floor and something inside
came loose or died.

I would however, like to get it working again if possible. I've
tried plugging it in and hooking it up to a IIgs. When it's turned on,
the green power-light comes on for about a half-second, then suddenly goes off.
Afterwards it acts completely _dead_ no matter how many times you switch
it on or off (at least until it's rested a long while and switched back on).
The picture-tube is intact, and so it seems is everything else, it's just not
feeding power through I would guess.

Does anyone have an idea what might be damaged inside? Could it
be the flyback transformer is dead or loose? I'm rather afraid to remove
the backcover and poke around inside, seeing as there could be a couple of
thousand volts still lurking...
